Hymn 13 — Saṅgrahastotranāma trayodaśaṁ stotram

सङ्ग्रहेन सुखदुःखलक्षणं मां प्रति स्थितमिदं शृणु प्रभो।
Saṅgrahena sukhaduḥkhalakṣaṇaṁ māṁ prati sthitamidaṁ śṛṇu prabho|
सौख्यमेष भवता समागमः स्वामिना विरह एव दुःखिता॥१३.१॥
Saukhyameṣa bhavatā samāgamaḥ svāminā viraha eva duḥkhitā||13.1||

O Lord (prabho), hear (śṛṇu) in brief (saṅgraheṇa) this very thing (idam), which (yat) stands (sthitam) with me (mām prati) as the mark of happiness and sorrow (sukha-duḥkha-lakṣaṇam): happiness (saukhyam)this very (eṣaḥ) meeting (samāgamaḥ) with You (bhavatā), the Lord (svāminā); sorrow (duḥkhitā)only (eva) separation (virahaḥ)||13.1||


अन्तरप्यतितरामणीयसी या त्वदप्रथनकालिकास्ति मे।
Antarapyatitarāmaṇīyasī yā tvadaprathanakālikāsti me|
तामपीश परिमृज्य सर्वतः स्वं स्वरूपममलं प्रकाशय॥१३.२॥
Tāmapīśa parimṛjya sarvataḥ svaṁ svarūpamamalaṁ prakāśaya||13.2||

Lord (īśa), and (api) that (yā… tām) most subtle (atitarām aṇīyasī) cloud of ignorance about You (tvat-aprathana-kālikā), that is (asti) within (antaḥ) me (me), — wipe away (parimṛjya) from everywhere (sarvataḥ) and reveal (prakāśaya) my own (svam) spotless (amalam) nature (sva-rūpam)||13.2||


तावके वपुषि विश्वनिर्भरे चित्सुधारसमये निरत्यये।
Tāvake vapuṣi viśvanirbhare citsudhārasamaye niratyaye|
तिष्ठतः सततमर्चतः प्रभुं जीवितं मृतमथान्यदस्तु मे॥१३.३॥
Tiṣṭhataḥ satatamarcataḥ prabhuṁ jīvitaṁ mṛtamathānyadastu me||13.3||

May there be for me (me), who stands (tiṣṭhataḥ) and constantly (satatam) worshipping (arcataḥ) the Lord (prabhum) in Your (tāvake) body (vapuṣi), full of the universe (viśva-nirbhare), woven from the nectarous juice of Consciousness (cit-sudhā-rasa-maye), indestructible (niratyaye)let there be (astu) whether life (jīvitam), whether (atha) death (mṛtam), whether something else (anyat)||13.3||


ईश्वरोऽहमहमेव रूपवान्पण्डितोऽस्मि सुभगोऽस्मि कोऽपरः।
Īśvaro'hamahameva rūpavānpaṇḍito'smi subhago'smi ko'paraḥ|
मत्समोऽस्ति जगतीति शोभते मानिता त्वदनुरागिणः परम्॥१३.४॥
Matsamo'sti jagatīti śobhate mānitā tvadanurāgiṇaḥ param||13.4||

“I (aham)the lord (īśvaraḥ), I alone (aham eva) am beautiful (rūpavān), I (asmi) am learned (paṇḍitaḥ), I am fortunate (subhagaḥ), who else (kaḥ aparaḥ) in the world (jagati) is (asti) equal to me (mat-samaḥ)?” — thus (iti) shines (śobhate) pride (mānitā), and only (param) in one who is in love with Thee (tvat-anurāgiṇaḥ)||13.4||


देवदेव भवदद्वयामृताख्यातिसंहरणलब्धजन्मना।
Devadeva bhavadadvayāmṛtākhyātisaṁharaṇalabdhajanmanā|
तद्यथास्थितपदार्थसंविदा मां कुरुष्व चरणार्चनोचितम्॥१३.५॥
Tadyathāsthitapadārthasaṁvidā māṁ kuruṣva caraṇārcanocitam||13.5||

God of gods (deva-deva), by that consciousness of things as they are (tat yathā-sthita-padārtha-saṁvidā), which is born from the destruction of ignorance of the nectar of non-duality with Thee (bhavat-advaya-amṛta-akhyāti-saṁharaṇa-labdha-janmanā), — make (kuruṣva) me (mām) fit for the worship of Thy feet (caraṇa-arcana-ucitam)||13.5||


ध्यायते तदनु दृश्यते ततः स्पृश्यते च परमेश्वरः स्वयम्।
Dhyāyate tadanu dṛśyate tataḥ spṛśyate ca parameśvaraḥ svayam|
यत्र पूजनमहोत्सवः स मे सर्वदास्तु भवतोऽनुभावतः॥१३.६॥
Yatra pūjanamahotsavaḥ sa me sarvadāstu bhavato'nubhāvataḥ||13.6||

Let (astu) mine (me) always (sarvadā), by Thy power (bhavataḥ anubhāvataḥ), may that (saḥ) great festival of worship (pūjana-mahā-utsavaḥ), where (yatra) is contemplated (dhyāyate), then (tad-anu) is seen (dṛśyate), and afterwards (tataḥ) also (ca) is touched (spṛśyate) the Self (svayam) Supreme Lord (parama-īśvaraḥ)||13.6||


यद्यथास्थितपदार्थदर्शनं युष्मदर्चनमहोत्सवश्च यः।
Yadyathāsthitapadārthadarśanaṁ yuṣmadarcanamahotsavaśca yaḥ|
युग्ममेतदितरेतराश्रयं भक्तिशालिषु सदा विजृम्भते॥१३.७॥
Yugmametaditaretarāśrayaṁ bhaktiśāliṣu sadā vijṛmbhate||13.7||

Vision of things as they are (yat yathā-sthita-padārtha-darśanam) and (ca) the great festival of worshipping You (yuṣmat-arcana-mahā-utsavaḥ)this (etat) pair (yugmam), resting one upon the other (itaretara-āśrayam), always (sadā) unfolds (vijṛmbhate) in those full of devotion (bhakti-śāliṣu)||13.7||


तत्तदिन्द्रियमुखेन सन्ततं युष्मदर्चनरसायनासवम्।
Tattadindriyamukhena santataṁ yuṣmadarcanarasāyanāsavam|
सर्वभावचषकेषु पूरितेष्वापिबन्नपि भवेयमुन्मदः॥१३.८॥
Sarvabhāvacaṣakeṣu pūriteṣvāpibannapi bhaveyamunmadaḥ||13.8||

May I be (bhaveyam) intoxicated (unmadaḥ), and (api) unceasingly (santatam) drink (āpiban) through these and those senses (tat-tat-indriya-mukhena) the intoxicating potion of worshipping You (yuṣmat-arcana-rasāyana-āsavam)from the filled (pūriteṣu) cups of all things (sarva-bhāva-caṣakeṣu)||13.8||


अन्यवेद्यमणुमात्रमस्ति न स्वप्रकाशमखिलं विजृम्भते।
Anyavedyamaṇumātramasti na svaprakāśamakhilaṁ vijṛmbhate|
यत्र नाथ भवतः पुरे स्थितं तत्र मे कुरु सदा तवार्चितुः॥१३.९॥
Yatra nātha bhavataḥ pure sthitaṁ tatra me kuru sadā tavārcituḥ||13.9||

Lord (nātha), where (yatra) there is not even an atom (na asti aṇu-mātram) of what is knowable by another (anya-vedyam), where everything (akhilam) unfolds (vijṛmbhate) as self-luminous (sva-prakāśam)in that (tatra) Your (bhavataḥ) city (pure) grant (kuru) me (me), who worships You (tava arcituḥ), a place forever (sadā)||13.9||


दासधाम्नि विनियोजितोऽप्यहं स्वेच्छयैव परमेश्वर त्वया।
Dāsadhāmni viniyojito'pyahaṁ svecchayaiva parameśvara tvayā|
दर्शनेन न किमस्मि पात्रितः पादसंवहनकर्मणापि वा॥१३.१०॥
Darśanena na kimasmi pātritaḥ pādasaṁvahanakarmaṇāpi vā||13.10||

The Supreme Lord (parama-īśvara), though (api) I (aham) am appointed (viniyojitaḥ) by Thee (tvayā)by Thy will alone (sva-icchayā eva)to the station of a servant (dāsa-dhāmni), — why then (kim) am I not (na) deemed worthy (pātritaḥ) neither of beholding (darśanena), nor () even of (api) the work of massaging Thy feet (pāda-saṁvahana-karmaṇā)?||13.10||


शक्तिपातसमये विचारणं प्राप्तमीश न करोषि कर्हिचित्।
Śaktipātasamaye vicāraṇaṁ prāptamīśa na karoṣi karhicit|
अद्य मां प्रति किमागतं यतः स्वप्रकाशनविधौ विलम्बसे॥१३.११॥
Adya māṁ prati kimāgataṁ yataḥ svaprakāśanavidhau vilambase||13.11||

Lord (īśa), at the time of the descent of Power (śaktipāta-samaye) fitting (prāptam) would be an inquiry (vicāraṇam)but You do not (na) make (karoṣi) it ever (karhicit). What then (kim) today (adya) has come (āgatam) to me (mām prati), that (yataḥ) You delay (vilambase) with the matter of Your manifestation (sva-prakāśana-vidhau)?||13.11||


तत्र तत्र विषये बहिर्विभात्यन्तरे च परमेश्वरीयुतम्।
Tatra tatra viṣaye bahirvibhātyantare ca parameśvarīyutam|
त्वां जगत्त्रितयनिर्भरं सदा लोकयेय निजपाणिपूजितम्॥१३.१२॥
Tvāṁ jagattritayanirbharaṁ sadā lokayeya nijapāṇipūjitam||13.12||

Indeed I see (lokayeya) always (sadā) Thee (tvām), full of the three worlds (jagat-tritaya-nirbharam), together with the Supreme Mistress (parama-īśvarī-yutam), — in this and that object (tatra tatra viṣaye), shining (vibhāti) outside (bahiḥ) and (ca) within (antare), worshipped by one’s own hand (nija-pāṇi-pūjitam)||13.12||


स्वामिसौधमभिसन्धिमात्रतो निर्विबन्धमधिरुह्य सर्वदा।
Svāmisaudhamabhisandhimātrato nirvibandhamadhiruhya sarvadā|
स्यां प्रसादपरमामृतासवापानकेलिपरिलब्धनिर्वृतिः॥१३.१३॥
Syāṁ prasādaparamāmṛtāsavāpānakeliparilabdhanirvṛtiḥ||13.13||

May I (syām) always (sarvadā), by mere intention alone (abhisandhi-mātrataḥ) unobstructed (nirvibandham) having ascended (adhiruhya) to the palace of the Lord (svāmi-saudham), having found peace in the play of drinking the intoxicating nectar of supreme grace (prasāda-parama-amṛta-āsava-pāna-keli-parilabdha-nirvṛtiḥ)||13.13||


यत्समस्तसुभगार्थवस्तुषु स्पर्शमात्रविधिना चमत्कृतिम्।
Yatsamastasubhagārthavastuṣu sparśamātravidhinā camatkṛtim|
तां समर्पयति तेन ते वपुः पूजयन्त्यचलभक्तिशालिनः॥१३.१४॥
Tāṁ samarpayati tena te vapuḥ pūjayantyacalabhaktiśālinaḥ||13.14||

Therefore (tena) that (yat) Your (te) body (vapuḥ) in all delightful things (samasta-subhaga-artha-vastuṣu) by mere touch alone (sparśa-mātra-vidhinā) bestows (samarpayati) that (tām) delight (camatkṛtim), — him they honor (pūjayanti) those who are full of unwavering devotion (acala-bhakti-śālinaḥ)||13.14||


स्फारयस्यखिलमात्मना स्फुरन्विश्वमामृशसि रूपमामृशन्।
Sphārayasyakhilamātmanā sphuranviśvamāmṛśasi rūpamāmṛśan|
यत्स्वयं निजरसेन घुर्णसे तत्समुल्लसति भावमण्डलम्॥१३.१५॥
Yatsvayaṁ nijarasena ghurṇase tatsamullasati bhāvamaṇḍalam||13.15||

You reveal (sphārayasi) everything (akhilam) by Yourself (ātmanā), shining (sphuran); You touch (āmṛśasi) the universe (viśvam), touching (āmṛśan) Your own form (rūpam). Because (yat) You Yourself (svayam) revolve (ghūrṇase) with Your own taste (nija-rasena), — therefore (tat) it blazes forth (samullasati) the circle of things (bhāva-maṇḍalam)||13.15||


योऽविकल्पमिदमर्थमण्डलं पश्यतीश निखिलं भवद्वपुः।
Yo'vikalpamidamarthamaṇḍalaṁ paśyatīśa nikhilaṁ bhavadvapuḥ|
स्वात्मपक्षपरिपूरिते जगत्यस्य नित्यसुखिनः कुतो भयम्॥१३.१६॥
Svātmapakṣaparipūrite jagatyasya nityasukhinaḥ kuto bhayam||13.16||

The Lord (īśa), who (yaḥ) sees (paśyati) the whole (nikhilam) this (idam) circle of objects (artha-maṇḍalam) without differentiating thought (avikalpam)like Your body (bhavat-vapuḥ), — to him (asya), eternally blissful (nitya-sukhinaḥ) in the world (jagati), filled with the side of one’s own self (sva-ātma-pakṣa-paripūrite), whence (kutaḥ) could fear arise (bhayam)?||13.16||


कण्ठकोणविनिविष्टमीश ते कालकूटमपि मे महामृतम्।
Kaṇṭhakoṇaviniviṣṭamīśa te kālakūṭamapi me mahāmṛtam|
अप्युपात्तममृतं भवद्वपुर्भेदवृत्ति यदि रोचते न मे॥१३.१७॥
Apyupāttamamṛtaṁ bhavadvapurbhedavṛtti yadi rocate na me||13.17||

The Lord (īśa), even (api) the poison kālakūṭa (kāla-kūṭam), lodged (viniviṣṭam) in the corner of Your (te) throat (kaṇṭha-koṇa), — for me (me) is great nectar (mahā-amṛtam); but (api) even the obtained (upāttam) nectar (amṛtam) is not (na) pleasing (rocate) to me (me), if (yadi) Your body (bhavat-vapuḥ) in it — with the activity of distinction (bheda-vṛtti)||13.17||


त्वत्प्रलापमयरक्तगीतिकानि त्य युक्तवदनोपशोभितः।
Tvatpralāpamayaraktagītikāni tya yuktavadanopaśobhitaḥ|
स्यामथापि भवदर्चनक्रियाप्रेयसीपरिगताशयः सदा॥१३.१८॥
Syāmathāpi bhavadarcanakriyāpreyasīparigatāśayaḥ sadā||13.18||

May I be (syām) adorned with lips, ever engaged in loving songs of prattle about Thee (tvat-pralāpa-maya-rakta-gītikā-nitya-yukta-vadana-upaśobhitaḥ), — and (atha api) always (sadā) with a heart embraced by that beloved which is the act of worshipping Thee (bhavat-arcana-kriyā-preyasī-parigata-āśayaḥ)||13.18||


ईहितं न बत पारमेश्वरं शक्यते गणयितुं तथा च मे।
Īhitaṁ na bata pārameśvaraṁ śakyate gaṇayituṁ tathā ca me|
दत्तमप्यमृतनिर्भरं वपुः स्वं न पातुमनुमन्यते तथा॥१३.१९॥
Dattamapyamṛtanirbharaṁ vapuḥ svaṁ na pātumanumanyate tathā||13.19||

Ah (bata), not (na) can be counted (śakyate gaṇayitum) the desires of the Supreme Lord (pārameśvaram īhitam)! And (ca) likewise (tathā) with me (me): even (api) given (dattam) His own (svam) body (vapuḥ), full of nectar (amṛta-nirbharam), He thus (tathā) does not (na) allow (anumanyate) to drink (pātum)||13.19||


त्वामगाधमविकल्पमद्वयं स्वं स्वरूपमखिलार्थघस्मरम्।
Tvāmagādhamavikalpamadvayaṁ svaṁ svarūpamakhilārthaghasmaram|
आविशन्नहमुमेश सर्वदा पूजयेयमभिसंस्तुवीय च॥१३.२०॥
Āviśannahamumeśa sarvadā pūjayeyamabhisaṁstuvīya ca||13.20||

Lord Umā (umā-īśa), may I worship (pūjayeyam) and (ca) praise (abhisaṁstuvīya) always (sarvadā), entering (āviśan) into Thee (tvām)bottomless (agādham), without discriminating thought (avikalpam), non-dual (advayam), one’s own (svam) nature (sva-rūpam), devouring all things (akhila-artha-ghasmaram)||13.20||
